Please note when paying your membership fee for 2022, you must show your Covid double vaxed certificate. Un-vaccinated persons will not be permitted to attend any Prime Movers class.

Happy New Year to you all.  I love this time of the year, new beginnings, and renewed vigour, however this year things are very different.  I hope you feel happy as we all navigate 2022.

This year is particularly poignant for us as Prime Movers celebrate 35 years of being a proactive seniors exercise group, making a large contribution to our community.  You may know that Prime Movers was started by a few volunteers in 1987 and since then our commitment and care for people has never faltered.  We are still the Number 1 Seniors Exercise group in Western Australia!

We plan to return to classes as soon as possible, however at this stage we do not have a commencement date.  The entire Prime Movers team is 100% fully vaccinated for COVID-19, with many now finalising booster shots.  This means as soon as we consider it safe to go, we will be back in our classes being fully compliant with mandatory vaccinations for our industry and therefore better protected.

The big question is the wearing of masks; if this continues to be mandatory we will not commence classes.  Our class exercise is not vigorous or strenuous enough to exempt us from wearing masks; our muscle and stretches also would be neither vigorous nor strenuous.  We also use a chair for balance and sitting exercise routines – all very moderate.

We know we have to learn to live with COVID-19.  This is a very fine balance and we need to get it right.  We are the most at risk in the community.  Prime Movers must continue to protect and have duty of care.

I would like all of you – our members – to keep the faith with Prime Movers and continue to support our desire to keep you all safe and COVID-free.

Please continue to check the Prime Movers web page wherein notice will be given as to when Prime Movers is once again, ready to go.  We look forward to seeing you all back in classes in the near future.

Instructors

Two of our Instructors have left us – Lee Hunt after some 6 years and Carla Klomp, who had only been with Prime Movers for a couple of years.  We wish them well.

However we are very fortunate to welcome two new Instructors – Robyn Hammond and Valita McDermott.  Robyn will be doing Kallaroo on Wednesday and Leederville on Thursday; Valita will be doing Maylands on Monday, Dianella on Tuesday and Hamersley on Thursday.

Unfortunately, some classes have been closed – Lynwood, Ardross, Beechboro and Ballajura.

This year Prime Movers is introducing a pre paid card – Class Voucher.  It costs $50 for 10 classes and you get one class free!  It is not transferrable and can be used in any Prime Movers class.

A donation of $5000 was made to the Bushfire Appeal and $1000 to the Kalbarri appeal in 2021.

New Secretary Required – Our current Secretary, Judith David is retiring as from the AGM.  If you are a retired secretary and would like a position on Prime Movers Committee as Secretary, please contact Judith at secretary@primemovers-exercise.com.au.

The Secretary of the organisation is retiring as from the AGM. This position is a demanding and very important role within the organisation.

After lengthy consultation with Prime Movers class Instructors it was decided classes will not take place until further notice. We are acting in accordance with the WA Health Department directives. Please continue to check the website for further information pertaining to a date for resumption of classes.
